The Jarrod Wittneben Memorial Scholarship Foundation was created in a time of darkness and deep sorrow at the end of 2013 after losing our beloved friend and family member, Jarrod Wittneben, in a work-related accident.
In our time of grief, we found comfort in giving back to the youth of our community while honoring Jarrod’s memory. We felt it would be appropriate to raise funds for college scholarships through one of the things that Jarrod was most passionate about…BBQ.
Through the funds raised from the last three cook-off fundraisers, we have been able to provide 41 local high school seniors with $82,000 scholarships for the cost of tuition, fees, and books.
We are an IRS recognized 501 (c) (3) charitable organization that relies solely on the generosity of the public in order to fund our program.
